We are delighted to confirm René Redzepi of Noma in Copenhagen, three times voted Best Restaurant in the World by Restaurant magazine, and Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi the brilliant Israeli chefs whose London delis, restaurants and books have taken the food world by storm. These are just three of many gastronomic stars promised for the second Kerrygold Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine, 16-18 May 2014.
Well known Australian cook and artisan food champion Maggie Beer, food writer Diana Kennedy (described as the 'Elizabeth David of Mexican cuisine') and prominent English chef-writer Simon Hopkinson also feature in the tantalising weekend programme for Litfest 2014. There are more than 60 events planned, bringing food lovers face to face with key trend-setters, authors and opinion-former's whom they may have admired so far, only in print.
Next year's festival follows the outstanding success of Ballymaloe Litfest 2013 which attracted over 40 renowned food writers, chefs and wine specialists from across the world and over 8000 food enthusiasts to Ballymaloe Cookery School and Ballymaloe House in East Cork last May. This three -day celebration of food trends and food writing was applauded across the world for the rich content delivered by an array of high profile guest presenters.
