I'm thrilled to Introduce David Tanis as the the next guest to contribute to my blog. I first met David at the inaugural LitFest in 2013 and I'm delighted he is returning to Ballymaloe for this years Festival. David, amongst many other things, was previously the Chef of both the upstairs cafe and the downstairs restaurant at Chez Panisse. Now he writes a weekly "City Kitchen" column for the New York Times. In this entry David gives an exciting insight into his most recent visit to Sicily:

I'm excited..... REALLY EXCITED.... With less than one week to go until the opening party for this year's LitFest I thought it would be fun to share a few picture from around Ballymaloe to give a sneak peak behind the scenes! Our good friends, The Queens of Neon, Yvonne Woods, Aoife Banville and Elemental Designs, arrived this week to transform The Big Shed into a wonderland of fun, one again. If you're free next Friday night and fancy some music, food and drinks swing by the The Big Shed. Everyone is welcome an entry is free. Doors open 7.30pm Friday 15th May 2015

I'm delighted to introduce Tim Wendelboe, a former world barista champion (2004) and world tasting champion (2005) as the next guest to contribute to my blog. I first tasted Tim's coffee in Copenhagen two years ago and I'v been a huge fan of his ever since. In this entry Tim shares with us how his search for the perfect cup has shifted his focus from being a barista to becoming a farmer, roaster and cafe owner:

Litfest - A Food and Drinks Literacy Festival at Ballymaloe is a weekend filled with fascinating facts, inspirational stories, intriguing discussions, incredible knowledge, fantastic music, fabulous dancing and of course, delicious food and drinks.
 
It is the only festival of its kind in Ireland and has created an important hub for food and drinks enthusiasts worldwide to meet and share ideas with each other.
