Madhur Jaffrey, the cook and writer, who more than any other has brought the immense glories of Indian food to our tables, through her beautiful words, will demonstrate some of her favourite dishes.
Madhur Jaffrey is regarded by many as the world authority on Indian food. She is an award-winning actress and best selling cookery author. Her first book, An Invitation to Indian Cookery, published in 1973 and her series for BBC television, Madhur Jaffrey’s Indian Cookery, made her a household name.
Among her many other titles are Taste of India, Easy Indian Cooking, World Vegetarian, Climbing the Mango Trees, The Curry Bible and most recently Curry Nation.
She has won many awards including several from the James Beard foundation, the IACP award, the Glenfiddich and Food Writers Guild Award.
Her children’s books include Seasons of Splendour and Robi Dobi, the Marvellous Adventures of an Indian Elephant, the latter winning the Parents Choice, Silver Honor.
She has appeared in over 20 films, including Merchant Ivory’s Heat and Dust.
