Katie Sanderson’s passion for food was first sparked when she received a plastic kitchen set as a gift at the age of four. Growing up and learning about cooking in Hong Kong, her passion quickly developed into a multidimensional career that has already established her as a pioneer of creative and collaborative food-based projects around the UK and abroad. Living Dinners in 2010 saw Katie bring her interpretation of the raw food movement to locations as diverse and atmospheric as a derelict Georgian house and a Wicklow rainforest.

The Hare Café, an experimental pop-up in the Temple Bar Gallery in Dublin, served up vegetables and flowers as art,and has since travelled to Paris and back to the Irish Museum of Modern Art. In the summer of 2014 Katie and her partner and fellow chef, Jasper O’Connor, launched The Dillisk Project. Transforming a derelict boat shed on the Connemara shore into a peaceful and intimate space, Katie and Jasper showcased the best of Ireland’s seaweeds, homegrown vegetables and fish.

Dillisk was sold out for two years running. Katie spends a lot of time working outside Ireland, but regularly returns to Dublin and to The Fumbally Café, which has become almost a second home. You can often find her there working alongside friends, sharing tricks picked up from her travels, running workshops, consulting and hosting brunches and dinners.
